Baking Soda Gender Test

For years my grandmother swore by using  Baking Soda Gender test. As for myself I was a little bit skeptical to say the least. My mother didn’t want to know what gender she was having so she didn’t  try. Me on the other hand I wanted to know and living several miles from my doctor one day I was searching on the internet and came across the baking soda test. Well since I already had somebaking soda gender test in the frig, I figured what the heck. After checking out several pages I was able to learn how to do the test and ran off to the bathroom with my baking soda and a cup. Sure enough it was fizzing by the time I made it back into the Kitchen. I jumped on the phone to call granny and of coarse she said I told you so.I did have a son that we named Brandon and this was eventually confirmed by an ultrasound later. The Baking Soda gender test was right. These are just my results maybe I was lucky or maybe the baking soda was right.
Important: Do the test first thing in the morning when you get up. Your urine will be at it’s strongest.

How to do a Baking Soda Gender Test

baking soda gender test cupThe first thing you want to do is put a little bit of baking soda in the bottom of a disposable cup,one you dont use for anything or is going to be thrown away. I keep one and labeled it and kept on the shelve above the washing machine or you could by a package of clear solo cups. You will need somewhere around two teaspoons of baking soda.Try to use a fresh box,not one that has been sitting in the refrigerator for months like I did. The baking soda was to old and the gender test did not take. Next then add a little bit of your urine to it,just enough to cover the soda, somewhere around one third of a cup. Now fill your cup  and then add the two teaspoons of  baking soda.If it fizzles like a like a carbonated soft drink , it may be a boy. If there’s no fizzle, it may be a girl. When I did mine the right way the second I added the baking soda to the pee it started to fizz right away. This meant I would be having a boy.

I found this you tube video will show the basic principles of how to do a baking soda gender test.

Does the Baking Soda Gender test work?

I am sure their people like my granny who swear buy it.I think for me it was just fun to think maybe it’s a boy.Just maybe…I just wonder who thought it would be a good idea to pee in a cup for a  baking soda gender test to predict if you where going to have a boy or a girl.

  1. I am 17 weeks abd 3 days pregnant! I have not gotten a ultrasound yet to tell me the gender of my baby and im starting to get unpacient! I took the gender test and it didnt sizzle or bubble! So i guess that means im having a girl? But does this test really , actually work?? I want to be sure!

  2. Baby gender before the birth and conception.
Baby gender by photo of parents only.
To do this I have a group at facebook.
Group is called Baby gender by parents photo

  3. I did mine both ways–first add baking soda then urine–then other ways–both times-no fizzle…just had my ultra sound and I’m having a girl!;) so it worked for me.

  4. banking soda test done after how maney week

  5. I learned about this test today. I’m 13 weeks. I learned not to use first morning urine bc of the alkalinity. So i tried both ways, one first in the morning, one during the day. I tried asking pee to soda and vice versa both times. So 4 out of 4tests said “girl”…no fizzle.

  6. I tried the bakin soda at 13 weeks it went fizzy I’ve sinced had my ultrasound and it is a boy

  7. Laricia Gantt says:

I tried the baking soda test. It started to bubble up when i first poured the pee in, but then it stopped. Does that mean it is a boy?

  8. I’m 12 weeks and I tried it in the evening and at night time both times it fizzled a little nothing big. So does that mean a boy? I also used the banking soda that was in the refrigerator so does that make a difference?

  9. According to the Ramzi method, I am supposed to be having a girl, but after taking the baking soda test with LOTS of fizz…this would mean boy (yay). Im 13 weeks today and find out next month what gender we’re having. This is exciting because its my 3rd pregnancy. 1st was a boy, had hyperemesis and was sick the entire time. with my girl, I was naucious and I considered it a (normal typical) pregnancy. This one, not one symptom. Had I not recently started feeling a bump and confirmed my pregnancy 3 times, with ultrasound, I wouldn’t have known. (loving this) Makes time fly by. Im due 9/11/15 cant wait to find out what we’re having!

  10. I’m 14 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I did the test today and it fizzled right away and a lot! So with that it says it’s going to be a boy. I have my next appt in about 3 weeks so let’s see if what if not i will have to wait until im 20 weeks to find out what it will be.

  11. I am 11 weeks and 3 days. I am on my 3rd pregnancy and hoping for my boy this time around. My oldest are both girls.
I did the baking soda test and it fizzed ALOT which means a boy, I also have taken the intelligender test in which that said boy too so maybe just maybe these tests are correct! It would be so nice to have a little boy in the house, especially for my husband’s sake.

  12. vanessa d says:

I did this test when i was pregnant with my son and for me it was correct. Along with all the other old wives tales except the Chinese gender prediction.

  13. This is baby number four for me and the first three are all girls. I never tried the gender test or any of the old wives tales with them but with baby number 4 I’m so anxious t o find out. I’m 14 weeks and tried the baking soda and it fizzled like sprite and had foam at the top. So I’m guessing it’s a boy. I also tried it with the bleach and it foamed all the way to the top. As per the old wives tale it’s a boy! I’ll be taking my next ultrasound at 20wks and see what baby number 4 is…. :)

  14. Can’t wait. .. maybe I should try the intelligender
